Overview
Barmedman Mineral Pool is a large therapeutic pool famous for its naturally high mineral content, believed to help soothe aches and pains. Supplied by an underground stream, the pool is set within peaceful, shady lawns that make it an ideal place to relax.
The pool was formed when nearby goldmines were flooded by the underground water source. Today, the site offers a range of visitor facilities including a seasonal kiosk (open during summer), barbecues and dressing sheds. Located within a four-hectare reserve, the mineral-rich waters have long been associated with restorative qualities. Nearby, Barmedman's main street features two parks with picnic facilities and a bowling club.
Well-maintained camping facilities are available at the reserve for a $10 AUD donation payable at the entrance. Please note that the pool is closed over the winter period, from May through to October.
