Maude is located 52 kilometres west of Hay, on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. The town was established in 1861 and grew slowly until 1879 when a hotel, store and wool store were built.

Maude is located 52 kilometres west of Hay, on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. The town was established in 1861 and grew slowly until 1879 when a hotel, store and wool store were built.
Today it is home to a general store, the Maude Hotel, a caravan park and post office. Enjoy meals at the Maude Hotel and experience life in the Australian bush.
There are some great fishing sites along the river with a grassy picnic area near the Maude weir.
