Those with an interest in history will find the Gundagai Historical Museum truly fascinating—a treasure trove of memorabilia showcasing pioneer life, bushrangers, and even the saddlecloth of legendary racehorse Phar Lap.

A standout feature of this extensive collection is the pair of gorgets (medallions) presented to Yarri and Jacky Jacky—two Wiradjuri men whose courageous actions saved many lives during the Gundagai flood of 1852.

Visitors can also explore a diverse array of exhibits, including a Model T Ford, farm machinery, wagons, equipment, clothing, coins, stamps, and a wide range of household items from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Managed entirely by a passionate team of volunteers, the museum offers more than just displays—the visitor's book reflects the nostalgic journey experienced by many who take the time to wander through its rich and evocative collection.
