This graceful lady is a memorial to the pioneer women of the district for their loyalty, courage and integrity in developing the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. The memorial designed by Tom Bass, was erected by public subscription and unveiled by Sir Roden Cutler on 9th August 1977.
