Art Workshop: Basket Weaving with Jodie Munday

Join Jodie Munday for a workshop introducing you to the ancient craft of coil weaving at Rusten House Art Centre.

Weaving is a practice spanning the globe across many First Cultures, with traditions that have been passed down through generations. In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn foundation weaving techniques while creating your own small woven basket to take home. All materials will be provided and no previous experience is necessary.

Jodie Munday is a proud Wiradyuri and Celtic artist with a multidisciplinary practice deeply connected to Culture, Country, and community. Jodie honours her ancestors by keeping ancient weaving practices alive and sharing cultural knowledge through creative practice. Through her business, Cr8ive Art, she delivers workshops, artist residencies, and cultural education programs for people of all ages. Jodie has won numerous art prizes across the country.
