Celebrate History Week at the Braidwood Museum with Keeping Stories – every place holds a story, a special event presented by the Braidwood & District Historical Society. Bringing together Braidwood and the surrounding villages of Araluen, Majors Creek, Mongarlowe, Nerriga and Reidsdale, this event explores the people, places and moments that shaped the region.

From the gold rush era of the 1850s, when thousands travelled through the district seeking fortune, to the families and communities who stayed and built its character, these stories reveal a rich and layered past. Braidwood, the only town in New South Wales heritage listed in its entirety, provides the perfect setting for this celebration of local history.

Join history researchers and storytellers and tickets include homemade scones with Saucy Ladies jam and cream, plus tea and coffee. Come to listen, learn and share stories of your own.
