Collister and Fix
Overview
From the misty Celtic landscapes of the Isle of Man to the sunlit shores of Australia, two musical worlds meet in a collaboration that feels both timeless and utterly alive. This February, that magic arrives in Gulgong at the historic Prince of Wales Opera House — the longest running opera house in the Southern Hemisphere.
Vocalist Christine Collister (UK/Isle of Man) and guitarist Michael Fix (Australia) visit Gulgong for the very first time, bringing a brand-new album and a live show rich in story, soul, and musical magic. Their partnership is rare: a seamless conversation between voice and guitar, where every note is deeply felt and beautifully placed. Christine's extraordinary voice — praised by Mojo as able to "sing the birds down off the trees" — is powerful, intimate, and emotionally disarming. Paired with Michael's award-winning guitar artistry, the result is music that transcends genre and expectation.
Described as "an enigmatic duo that brings audiences to tears" their performances move effortlessly through folk, blues, jazz, and pop, delivered with warmth, humour, and remarkable musical chemistry. This first-ever Gulgong appearance is a rare chance to experience world-class music in one of Australia's most atmospheric historic venues.
