Overview
CSIRO's Australia Telescope Compact Array at the Paul Wild Observatory is a world leading instrument for radio astronomy.
The ATCA is an array of six 22m diameter antennas. Five antennas are able to be relocated along a 3km east-west rail track, with a 214m north-south spur. The sixth antenna is fixed in location 3km west of the east-west rail track.
Located just 25 kilometres west of Narrabri on the Yarrie Lake Road in rural New South Wales.
The visitors centre is self-guided.
Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the antennas and wander through indoor and outdoor astronomy exhibits. The theatre features free films on space and astronomy.
