Beginners Bonsai Workshop
Sunday 06 September 2020
Learn the ancient Oriental art of bonsai from a master. Michael Basile will show you how to guide and manipulate the growth of a tree that would normally become a forest giant so that it becomes a perfect miniature. This workshop will provide you with an overview of the art and its history, introduce you to the different styles of bonsai and how to care for these living works of art. The workshop includes a pot, plant and resources needed to start off a bonsai plant, plus morning tea and a light lunch. Participants will need to bring gardening gloves and fine point secateurs/horticultural scissors. While you are at Crystal Brook you will be able to explore the intriguing theme gardens, which include a Japanese garden, romantic garden, potager garden and medieval knot garden. It's a great place to seek horticultural inspiration!
