Riverside sits along the Apsley River, right beside the Macleay Gorges Wilderness Area. Its remote, untouched setting makes it perfect for a day trip or an overnight camping adventure. Enjoy swimming, fishing, walking, or canoeing in this natural haven.

Access is only possible with a Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) vehicle equipped with Low Range due to the steep terrain—caravans, trailers, and motorbikes are not permitted. To reach Riverside, drive 50 km east of Walcha via Moona Plains Road.

Visitor numbers are limited for both day trips and camping, so bookings are essential (fees apply). Reserve your spot through the NPWS website or by calling the National Parks Contact Centre. After booking, you'll receive a permit and a code to unlock the boom gate for entry.
