Think karaoke in a bar singing shoulder to shoulder with friends new and old, a drop-in choir with no auditions and no need to read music as it is taught by ear. Each gathering will be a brand-new song.

The Welcome Choir is an open, safe, friendly, all-genders, all-ages singing group of all singing abilities. Coming to The Welcome Choir is a great way to make new friends, express yourself authentically and step out of your comfort zone. Focused on having a joyful and uplifting experience singing pop songs from many decades of great music together in beautiful harmony.

The start of each session will be a fun vocal warm-up helping to control the voice by the talented and experienced choirmaster, Bek Jensen.

Welcome Choir began in 2016 as a Not-for-Profit organisation in the heart of Newtown, Sydney at the Newtown Neighbourhood Centre. Starting with 20 participants that met once a week, this number grew quickly and within a year, moved to a bigger venue.
