When you are in the area the park is the perfect place to stop and stretch your legs. The park boasts large leafy mature trees, and you will find seating with covered shelters, there is also a children’s playground. Parking is available on the road that surrounds the park. A short stroll away you will find the Wilberforce shops - nice and close in case you have forgotten anything for your picnic outing.

Another popular feature for history buffs is the location of the park as it is adjacent to the historic Macquarie Schoolhouse (1819) and the appealing St John's Anglican Church (1859). These are highlighted in the Hawkesbury River Towns Heritage Highlights guides available at Hawkesbury Visitor Information Centre, 328 Hawkesbury Valley Way, Richmond.

The Park has a war memorial. Conflicts remembered at the site include the Great War from 1914-18 and the Vietnam War.
