Overview
In a wonderfully quirky international partnership, Bland in New South Wales has joined forces with Dull in Scotland and Boring in Oregon, USA, to create the League of Extraordinary Communities.
The story began in 2012 when Boring and Dull formed an official friendship, proudly celebrating their unusual names. A year later, Bland completed the trio, creating a unique connection between three communities on opposite sides of the world.
Interestingly, both Bland and Boring were named after early settlers, William Bland and William Boring, while Dull's name is believed to originate from a Pictish word meaning "field".
To commemorate this extraordinary alliance, visitors can find a special league sign and selfie frame in Lions Park. Strike a pose, snap a photo, and share your experience with the world because being Bland, Dull or Boring has never been so extraordinary!
