The Vanfest music festival in Forbes is a key event on the Regional NSW event calendar, with a stellar line up from award-wining artists, an inflatable water slide, beach bars and more for music lovers. We sent six instagrammers on a road trip with JUCY campervans, travelling from Sydney to Forbes to attend Vanfest 2016, and discover all the best spots to stopover along the way in the Blue Mountains, Oberon, Orange and Parkes.
Wanderluster Taylah Nilsson shares her adventure:
From the moment we boarded our own JUCY RV, that we affectionately named ‘the beast’, this trip had it all. Good food, good company and even more incredible experiences.
From a great backstage experience at the Vanfest music festival in Forbes to jam to the likes of Angus and Julia Stone and The Rubens; all the way to traversing in the Blue Mountains with nothing but a rope harness, a helmet and our bare hands.
This trip pushed boundaries, made us embrace life in its brightest moments and face new challenges. Abseiling a cliff face with Blue Mountains Adventure Company is definitely not something I thought I’d ever do.
Along the way we found hidden sugar pine forests, visited the beautiful De Salis winery in Orange, ran through a meadow of wild flowers, and discovered a wheat field that stretched so far into the distance we couldn’t see it end. This trip was full of surprises and was a chance for me to properly discover the incredible beauty of my own backyard in NSW.
