The festival will be held in the town’s city centre and showcases the best Maitland has to offer in wining and dining, fresh local produce, gourmet goodies and entertainment.
More than 30 food stalls will keep festivalgoers well fed and craving more with Argentinian, Dutch, Greek, Turkish and Vietnamese cuisines just some of the festival’s culinary and cultural highlights.
There’s more food to feast your eyes on at the cooking demonstrations across the weekend from notable Hunter chefs. Celebrity chef Janelle Bloom, from TV cooking show READY STEADY COOK, will also be on the cooking stage. Learn how to create something quick – Processor Orange Cake – something fancy – Seared Sirloin with Fresh Green Salsa – or something from the heart – Mum’s Ovaltine Bun.
For a sample of the local drop head to the winery and brewery stalls. For a look into organic and biodynamic viticulture, visit local wineries Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Australia’s largest producer of organic wines, and Macquariedale Organic Wines, the first certified bio-dynamic vineyard in the Hunter. If beer is your beverage of choice taste the award-winning brews from The Hunter Beer Co. Their beers have won 11 silver and 13 bronze medals over the last three years at the Australian International Beer Awards.
Great music will flow from the festival’s two stages across the weekend. Allow yourself to be serenaded by the sweet sounds of vocalists and musicians on saxophone, guitar and harmonica playing everything from indie-folk to classic 50’s swing, through to modern jazz grooves and the top hits of today.
Spend a weekend amidst the picturesque countryside in Maitland and soak in the great atmosphere at the festival with great food, wine and music that will please all friends and family.
