Murrumbateman Moving feast

You’ve probably never considered that the words ‘roving’ and ‘degustation’ would go together too well, but when you hear about the Murrumbateman Moving Feast 2013, it all starts to make perfect sense.

The festival is held over the Labour Day long weekend from October 4 – 7.

Murrumbateman is the capital of Canberra’s cool climate wine region and is only 20 minutes away from nearby Yass, or just three hours from Sydney.

During the three-day food extravaganza, delectable local wines will be offered with matching tasting plates around the area known as Poachers Way such as Helm Wines and Dionysus Winery.

Some of the wines will be matched with entrees, some will be served with main meals, and others will accompany a dessert dish – so you’ll get an entire meal, plus drinks, throughout your tastings!

For every dish you purchase, you will be given a complimentary wine as well as a Moving Feast wine glass.

When you’re pressed for time but want to get a good feel of the region and its popular wines, this feast is an ideal way to make your way around multiple wineries in just a long weekend.

The food and wine aren’t the only reasons to entice you to visit the area – even though they’re good enough on their own – as Murrumbateman is host to some of the scenery that helps put Australia on the map as a stunning holiday destination.

Travelling from one vineyard to another will ensure you get a taste of the countryside just as much as you taste the tempting platters and drinks available at each one.

Book in your Murrumbateman accommodation ahead of time to ensure a spot or stay in Yass for a short trip to the region.
