The Fish Tank: Jagath Dheerasekara

Sat 05 Dec '26 – Sun 21 Feb '27 (DAILY event)

Overview

The Fish Tank by Jagath Dheerasekara is MAP mima's 2026 Summer Commission, a new animated work for the 360-degree projection Cube. Step inside a watercolour fish tank and watch it come to life around you, a colourful, curious experience for the whole family. For older audiences, the work explores fish tanks in markets as a political image of waiting, surveillance and silent violence.
