Overview
The Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup has run for 23 years on the first weekend of September.
Saturday has four heats featuring 32 poets from Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and the local area, performing eight minutes of poetry, judged on the poem, performance, audience reaction and timing.

Sunday has two semi-finals of eight poets each, to decide which eight poets advance to the Final Sunday night to compete for the AUD2000 first prize and the coveted Cup.
All money is raised by the Nimbin Community and the event is run by volunteers.
