Australia Day in Narrandera
Overview
Australia Day is celebrated across the Narrandera Shire with a full day of community events, entertainment and family-friendly activities. The program includes a community breakfast, live performances, cultural workshops and water-based activities, offering something for all ages.
The day includes a community breakfast and an Australia Day Awards Ceremony at Marie Bashir Park, recognising the contributions of local citizens and community groups. The ceremony features performances by One Voice Choice and the Yiramarong Dance Group.
A Survival Day Family Event is held at Koori Beach, focusing on culture and connection. Activities include art, craft and dance workshops, traditional games and a barbeque lunch by the river.
Live music continues at the Narrandera Ex-Servicemen's Club as part of the Celebrate the Nation, Respect the Beat event, with Sticky Fingers The Band performing Australian music, country songs and well-known classics.
Water-based activities take place at Rocky Waterholes, including stand-up paddle boarding and a sunset kayak experience, offering a relaxed way to enjoy the local waterways. Bookings are required for water activities.
