Conceived by renowned artistic director Lyndon Terracini AM — the visionary behind Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour — Handa Opera at Millthorpe is his latest celebration of world-class music in regional NSW.

Spend time exploring nearby vineyards, cellar doors, and acclaimed restaurants, then return to Millthorpe each evening to enjoy great performances over a glass of local wine.

Across four days, a curated festival of performances adds atmosphere and occasion. You can dip in with tickets to individual events, or choose a Festival Pass to save and experience the full program across all four days. Free open rehearsals and "In Conversation" Q&A events offer a behind‑the‑scenes glimpse of the artists at work, and are open to the public.

Festival Highlights include Verdi's Un Ballo in Maschera starring powerhouse mezzo soprano Elena Gabouri, Berlin to Broadway's glittering musical theatre gems, the great bass Ferruccio Furlanetto in recital, plus a special chamber concert showcasing rising opera stars, all in an intimate setting with exquisite acoustics, the Millthorpe Hall.
