Overview
Gunnedah Cultural Precinct – The Heart of Arts and Entertainment
The Gunnedah Cultural Precinct is a vibrant hub for creativity and community, combining the heritage-listed Town Hall, Civic Cinema, Smithurst Theatre, Bicentennial Creative Arts Spaces, Mooki Studio, meeting rooms, and the Visitor Information Centre.
Art & Exhibitions
Local murals brighten the precinct, while galleries feature rotating exhibitions from local, regional, and national artists, plus community displays. A permanent gallery showcases works from Arts Gunnedah, with mixed-media art and ceramics available for purchase. Galleries are open daily.
Entertainment & Programs
The 136-seat Civic Cinema screens new releases Thursday to Sunday, offers a full children's program during school holidays, and hosts drama classes during school terms. Live theatre productions—local and touring—are a regular highlight.
Venue Hire
From workshops to large-scale events, the precinct provides flexible spaces for arts, cultural, educational, and corporate gatherings. Whether it's a seminar or a community celebration, this venue caters for groups of all sizes.
