Operating from the oldest house on Keira Street in Wollongong, Rookie Eatery makes for a charming, white-washed setting for tasting Eastern and Western flavours in a fresh and exciting way.
The team at Rookie Eatery believe that “Australian cuisine is a multicultural phenomenon that exists nowhere else in the world”. This ethos can be seen in the modern and creative fusions that make up the menu. Expect dishes such as prawn ravioli with fermented chilli butter, potato dumplings with charcuterie XO and market fish with sweet ponzu, shiso and watercress – as well as treats like yuzu curd with meringue, strawberry and hazelnut crumb to finish.
The restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday, and lunch on Fridays.
