Early Start Discovery Space

The Early Start Discovery Space is an extraordinary destination for all children from birth to 10 years and their families. As Australia's only dedicated children's museum, they offer interactive, playful experiences to inspire imagination - the ultimate learning-through-play environment!

The exhibits are sized such that both children and adults can comfortably participate. They are designed to use natural materials that are appealing to look at and touch; and involve seamless integration of technology to enhance the experience.

You’ll be able to take a tour inside a giant stomach, design and construct a house, be an archaeologist, discover the world of decorative and creative art, conduct the brand new multi-mode train engine, interact with the model train diorama, act on stage, sail a ship, crawl through a cave, play with water, immerse yourself in the Lego bricks room, create digital media and so much more! The activities are open-ended, so it’s up to everyone, each visit, to make new and individual discoveries.

Located on the University of Wollongong's main campus, the Discovery Space is open to the general public.
