Held on the traditional lands of the Awabakal People, the Living Smart Festival is one of Australia’s largest community sustainability events, with a mission to encourage people to learn about and embrace everyday sustainability practices.
Located on the shores of Lake Macquarie at Speers Point Park, this family-friendly event features a jam-packed program highlighting sustainability topics such as permaculture, natural ecosystems, upcycling, circular economy, sustainable eating, electric vehicles, First Nations learnings and much more.
This year’s Living Smart Festival brings a huge line-up of sustainability workshops, demonstrations, and speakers, featuring some of Australia’s most prominent and innovative personalities in the field of sustainability, including Logie Award-winning presenter, comedian and waste warrior, Craig Reucassel.
The event will also showcase sustainable market stalls, local community organisations, live music, roving performers and free kids’ activities.
