With stunning views of distant mountains and passing whales and dolphins, these white sandy beaches have a beautiful northerly aspect.
Main Beach is home to Byron Bay Surf Club and a popular children's play area. The beach is patrolled by Surf Lifesavers in summer. From here it is only a short stroll across the street to Byron Bay swimming pool, the Beach Hotel and Byron Bay town centre with its many cafes and shops.
Swim between the flags and always wear a hat and sunscreen.
