During the lecutre Dr. Hobbins will delve into the intriguing theme: "Maitland under attack? Defending the Hunter region in World War II" to explore the possibility of Maitland facing wartime threats, the preparedness of the region, and its position within the broader context of national and imperial defense. From naval and aerial attacks to the challenges of toxic gases and warship broadsides, this presentation promises to be enlightening.
The event will take place amidst the charming gardens of Brough and Grossmann Houses and will include homemade canapés and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Your attendance supports the maintenance of the cherished 1870 Victorian townhouses, Brough and Grossman Houses.
