The memorial with its clock tower was unveiled in 1922. An avenue of trees was planted along Albury Road, which was later renamed Honour Avenue. In the World War I, 187 men lost their lives, and in World War II, 22 paid the supreme sacrifice, including one woman, Sister D. G. Elmes.
