Goulburn Carnival of Cups

The ‘Frank and Edna’ Carnival of Cups race day is Goulburn’s principal meeting of the season. Held on the last Sunday of April in 2024, the fixture hosts the best horses in New South Wales and provides harness fans and families an outstanding afternoon of entertainment.

The club's signature race is the Goulburn Soldiers Club, Frank and Edna Day Goulburn Cup. The AUD30,000 Group Three race is contested over the 2240 metres. The honour roll lists many of Australia’s best pacers including Inter Dominion winner Tiger Tara, Miracle Mile winner Baby Bling, and the course and race record holder For A Reason who has also won the 2013 Victoria Cup.

The racing is the big draw card, the Carnival of Cups race day also brings many side attractions with live music from 'Grand Slam', Mechanical Bull rides, jumping castle, face painting, children's raffle and the family fun day novelty picnic races & events providing entertainment for all the family.

The day supports important local organisations. In previous years, the gate takings have been donated to Convoy For Kids Goulburn, Goulburn High School and the Goulburn Base Hospital. This year the club is getting behind the Challenge Foundation Goulburn Inc., a critical service in the Goulburn district that provides homely accommodation for people with disabilities, and school bus transport for children with disabilities.
