Blue Mountains
Just 90 minutes from Sydney by car, two hours by train, the Blue Mountains has some of the country’s most dazzling natural attractions. With dramatic views over the deep valley troughs gouged out over millions of years, the lookouts at Wentworth Falls, Govetts Leap and Echo Point are spectacular.
Experience wonders at Scenic World, where the glass-topped carriages of the Scenic Railway take you on a heart-stopping ride into the depths of the Jamison Valley. Or jump aboard the Scenic Skyline and journey high over the canyon for superb views of the Three Sisters and beyond.

The Blue Mountains' many bush walks include easy strolls to longer walks which lead from the clifftops into the depths of the valleys. The Six Foot Track is a more challenging three-day walk along the old coach road between Katoomba and Jenolan Caves. You can also enjoy many mountain bike trails.
The Jenolan Caves is a world-class wonderland, a labyrinth of stalactite-lined limestone caves sculpted by underground rivers. Explore on fantastic guided cave tours. You can also enjoy lunch in the restaurant and stay overnight in iconic Jenolan Caves House, a popular wilderness getaway since 1896.
Wentworth Falls picnic area is a great base to explore the lush world of rainforests and waterfalls along a range of spectacular walking tracks to suit all the family. The leisurely Charles Darwin walk to the Overcliff-Undercliff track is an ideal area for birdwatching and enjoying the Blue Mountains National Park.

There are many fabulous cultural experiences, from the Blue Mountains Music Festival to the colourful Katoomba Street Art Walk, which features world-standard street art. Visit Waradah Aboriginal Centre, a vibrant hub of Aboriginal culture with dance and didgeridoo performances throughout the day.
You will find many restaurants and cafes, from the family-friendly Cafe 2773 to the Asian-inspired surrounds of Miss Lillian Teahouse. The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden is an annex of Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden and a book of botanical wonders, also home to The Potager restaurant.
The Blue Mountains delivers outstanding accommodation, from cottages and cabins to luxury resorts.
