Die National Cartoon Gallery
Überblick
Die National Cartoon Gallery verfügt über mehr als 25.000 Cartoons führender australischer und internationaler Cartoonisten und veranstaltet wechselnde Cartoon-Ausstellungen, die aus der Sammlung der Galerie zusammengestellt wurden.
Die Galerie befindet sich in einem einzigartigen Gebäude, einer Kombination aus einem originalen unterirdischen Bunker aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, der 1995 in einen Ausstellungsraum umgewandelt wurde, und einer zweiten Galerie im Obergeschoss, die 2021 fertiggestellt wurde.
Besucher können die Außenseite des ursprünglichen unterirdischen Bunkers durch ein großes Schaufenster betrachten, was Ihren Besuch noch attraktiver macht.
Die Galerie im Obergeschoss beherbergt das National Holden Motor Museum, eine bedeutende Sammlung von Holden Motor Cars, von denen einige bis in die 1950er Jahre zurückreichen, und aus allen Jahrzehnten bis zum kürzlichen Ende der Holden-Autoproduktion. Dies wurde durch die großzügige Unterstützung und Spenden lokaler Unternehmen ermöglicht.
