Orchestral Colours
Overview
"Orchestral Colours" highlights the different sounds, tones and textures that can be achieved by a Symphony Orchestra performing in the magnificent, historic St Carthages Cathedral of Lismore.
In the first half of the concert, the unique characteristics of the different instruments of the Lismore Symphony Orchestra, along with the Cathedral's wonderful acoustics, are showcased by a program of diverse shorter works.
After an interval, the full orchestra combines for Johann Strauss's stunning orchestral showpiece -Die Fledermaus, selections from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and the hauntingly beautiful Intermezzo by Australian composer Frederick Septimus Kelly.
This is a family-friendly event where children under 12 are admitted free of charge.
Can book through the Orchestra website or Humanitix.
