Presenting a new body of ceramic work, Belinda Smith extends her exploration of the female head as vessel and symbol.

Reinterpreting the ancient tradition of women's heads on commemorative objects and funerary vessels, Smith transforms these emblems of reverence into contemporary expressions of lived experience.

A number of sculptures invert the head into a headstand, an act of balance, strength, and grace, becoming both literal and metaphorical.

The inverted heads support skirt-like forms that evoke resilience, achievement, and joy within adversity. Poised yet playful, Smith reflects on the quiet triumphs that define the everyday acts of endurance and becoming.
