Tracing the Light - A Piano Recital by Pu-Yu Wu
Overview
In a world that often feels uncertain and overwhelming, Tracing the Light is an invitation to pause, listen, and reconnect.
Through a carefully curated program spanning works by Claude Debussy, Gary Schocker, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Franz Schubert, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt, and Tyzen Hsiao, this recital explores the many shades of light — from stillness and reflection, to playfulness, memory, struggle, and ultimately, renewal.
Each piece offers a different perspective on light: gentle and distant, intimate and warm, resilient and radiant. Together, they form an emotional arc that invites the listener on a journey inward, and beyond.
The program also features a special four-hand collaboration with guest pianist Karsten Ghali, celebrating connection, shared expression, and the joy of making music together.
Tracing the Light is not only a concert, but a space — to breathe, to reflect, and to rediscover the quiet strength, compassion, and humanity that music can illuminate within you.
