Looking for a secluded and multi award-winning eco stay? Kestrel Nest is it! Set on a working sheep farm, nestled in rolling hills above a rocky mountain stream, it is also a conservation area protecting critically endangered habitat.

Kestrel Nest is easily accessible from the Hume Highway and and close to Gundagai, Tumut and Wagga Wagga.

Need a break from the buzz of modern life? Kestrel Nest is off-line. And with sustainability in mind it is off-grid. Luxuries include outdoor bath on the verandah, a fireplace inside, and firepit outside. A perfect retreat for couples or small families.

Stargazing? Kestrel Nest EcoHut is the first and so far only Dark Sky Approved Lodging in Australia. With limited light pollution the night sky will have you amazed. Perfectly placed stargazing hammocks make for comfortable viewing.

Local produce? Guests can purchase farm-grown lamb. Farm-raised eggs are standard offerings. Regional Hamper and Regional Cellar are also available. Their well-equipped kitchen will have you cooking up a storm.

Kestrel Nest holds Advanced Ecotourism and Climate Action certifications - internationally-recognized and backed by Ecotourism Australia.

The hut is named after the magnificent Kestrel - the only bird seen near the EcoHut for two weeks after Black Summer fires threatened the hut.
