Newcastle's Newkulele Festival strikes a new chord with more music, more instruments and more community connection!

A biennial feature on the Newcastle music calendar since 2012, the Newkulele Festival is back. This year the Festival evolves into something more - more instruments, more community, more music! The Newcastle ukulele scene has always been built on connection, and this year the Festival is expanding that spirit in a big way. While still proudly uke-heavy, a wider range of instruments, workshops, and performances will also feature, including African drumming, marimba, brass and percussion.

The Festival will open on Friday night at the Harold Lobb Concert Hall at the Conservatorium of Music in Cooks Hill, followed by a weekend program across multiple venues in Carrington, all within walking distance of the central hub, Carrington Bowlo.
