Hunter Valley Wine School

Hunter Valley Wine School is an immersive two-hour wine experience at Hunter Farm in Pokolbin, designed for anyone who wants to understand wine rather than simply taste it.

The experience begins with the vineyard and follows the journey from grape to glass. Participants discover grape growing, grape varieties and the winemaking process before learning how to recognise wine styles, colour and aroma and how to taste wine with greater confidence.

Led by the Cellarmaster, Wine School is relaxed, informative and hands-on. No previous wine knowledge is required, making it equally suited to wine enthusiasts and visitors discovering Hunter Valley wine for the first time.

Participants can put what they have learned into practice through tasting and blending, and each participant receives a personalised Hunter Valley Wine Appreciation Certificate.

Wine School takes place at Hunter Farm, a family-owned 100-acre Pokolbin property where visitors can also enjoy Hunter Farm Wines, Hunter Wine Theatre, vineyard experiences, grape stomping and barrel rolling.

Visitors can make a day of it with breakfast, lunch or dinner at 4 Pines at the Farm, explore the wider range of Hunter Farm experiences or stay onsite at Hunter Valley Resort and Farm.
