Brolgas and black swans are frequently spotted here, and the Wetlands are home to the Sloane's Froglet, a vulnerable species endemic to Australia that is most frequently found in wet grasslands and intermittent freshwater marshes around the floodplains of the Murray-Darling Basin. Billy button flowers are regularly found here.
