Jennings Kerr is pleased to announce our first solo exhibition with Mignon Steele. 'Matter of Times' consists of a series of hand pulped wall mounted sculptures.
Mignon Steele
b.1978, Bulli, Australia
Lives and works in Bellambi, Dharawal country.
Working across painting, paper sculpture, and ceramics; her practice explores the curious entanglement between humans and the natural world. Steele has exhibited across Australia, with recent recognition including finalist selections in the Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award, Paddington Art Prize, where she received the Cooee Leven Exhibition Award. She has undertaken residencies at The Lock-Up Art Space, Gang Gang Residency, Clay Wollongong, Corridor Projects and Fowlers Gap research station.
Alongside her solo practice Mignon is part of an ongoing collaborative practice within the multidisciplinary duo Barnacle Studio which expands upon her individual work into site-specific painting, architectural colour and community art projects.
