Meet your local guide at the Visitor Information Centre for a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Mehi River. Your first stop will be the Aboriginal Art Trail in Jellicoe Park, where you will learn about the visual cultural traditions of the Gamilaroi people through the work of local contemporary artists.
You will then continue your walk along the river, with insights into Moree's natural environment and history of flooding in the region. Entering Frome St, your guide will introduce you to Moree's history through our beautiful heritage buildings. Discover the impact of Federation and World Wars as well as the changing fortunes of our agricultural community through droughts, booms and innovation. Experience the bustling town center with time for coffee, shopping, and visits to our museums and galleries according to your areas of interest.
Tours can be tailored to your interests with the option of finishing at the Visitor Information Centre or in town so you can explore our museums, shops and cafes at your own pace.
The walk is around 3km long and takes approximately 2 hours.
