Create Festival

Creativity flows across the Narrabri Shire this October as Create Festival 2026 returns for its annual celebration of art, culture and community.

This year's festival brings together local and visiting artists, community groups and creative spaces through exhibitions, public art and special events held across the Shire.

The 2026 theme, Water, invites artists to explore the many ways water shapes our environment, culture, communities and stories, from the waterways and landscapes around us to ideas of movement, connection and life.

Alongside the major Create exhibition at The Crossing Theatre, this year's program extends into the community with collaborative and independently delivered exhibitions and events, including As the Rivers Flow at Wee Waa Community Arts and Cultural Centre, Rhythm and Flow at Narrabri Art & Craft Society and the inaugural Narrabri Portrait Prize at the Tourist Hotel.

Whether you're an art lover, curious creative or simply looking to experience another side of the Narrabri Region, Create is an invitation to discover the people, stories and creativity of the region.
