Step back in time on the Bodalla Historic Town Walk, an easy self-guided stroll through this charming village on the Eurobodalla South Coast. Bodalla's story began in the 1860s, when British industrialist Sir Thomas Mort established the region's dairy industry, and the historic buildings that still stand tell that story today.

Start at All Saints Church on the Princes Highway, built in 1880, then head south past Bodalla Cottage, the memorial hall, bakery and post office to the old police station. Cross the highway to the fire shed and continue south before turning into Sutcliffe Street. At the old Bodalla School, follow the street north past the Uniting Church and the Stone Shed, finishing at the Bodalla Pub.

The walk is 3.5 kilometres return, graded easy, and takes around two hours, leaving plenty of time to stop and imagine the village as it once was. Along the way, you can also pop into the Bodalla General for traditional pies, pastries and cakes or finish with a meal at the pub.

Bodalla sits about 30 minutes south of Batemans Bay, making it a rewarding heritage stop on a South Coast road trip.
