Wicker Suite 'The Way That It Was' Tour
Overview
Award-winning duo Wicker Suite are bringing music back to Australia's country halls with their heartfelt tour, The Way That It Was. Inspired by the classic hall tours of Slim Dusty and Joy McKean, and modern movements like the Festival of Small Halls, this tour celebrates the places and people that have long been the heartbeat of regional music.
Wicker Suite — New Zealand singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Liam Kennedy-Clark and Australian fiddle player Gabi Louise — are one of the most exciting acts in Australian country-roots today. Their distinctive blend of country, bluegrass and folk has earned them two Golden Guitar Awards and an ARIA Country Top 20 debut album, This Is Wicker Suite.
Live on stage, the duo shine with exceptional musicianship, warm storytelling, quick humour and deeply moving songs. From nostalgic folk to fiery bluegrass, their performances honour tradition while welcoming a new generation of storytellers.
Each show takes place in a local country hall, with space for community connection and local voices alongside the music. Sincere, energetic and full of heart, The Way That It Was is an invitation to come together and experience live music the way it used to be.
