In her latest painting series, Jane Tonks explores a deep personal connection to the Orange landscape through themes of spirituality and immersion in nature. Her studies of remnant bushland of Gaanha bula (Mount Canobolas) and Mullion Range highlight the myriad of ecological biodiversity found in the area, the intrinsic interconnection and balance of the natural world, and the importance of collective conservation to protect the environment for future generations.

The paintings explore the changing light and atmosphere of the sub-alpine habitat, depicting its old-growth trees, heathland, and other endemic flora throughout the four seasons.
