Australia Day in the Bathurst Region
Overview
This Australia Day, reflect, respect and celebrate with events across the Bathurst Region.
Join the Bathurst community in welcoming new citizens at the Citizenship Ceremony at 9.30am followed by the Australia Day Awards at 11am where the achievements of significant locals are honoured. Both events will be held at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre with light refreshments provided. All community members and visitors to the region are invited to attend and help celebrate the morning.
Afterwards, cool off at the Manning Aquatic Centre with $2 entry from 11am, pool inflatables, games and a free sausage sizzle.
Or explore one the Region's beautiful historic villages. Wattle Flat will be hosting a family fun day from 9am to 3pm with a free sausage sizzle, live music, face painting for the kids and more; and the 8th annual Jerky Making Competition will be held at the Sofala Royal Hotel along with live music, yabby races, a sausage sizzle and camping by the river.
Plus, make the most of the Australia Day long weekend and enjoy a free outdoor cinema on Saturday 24 January. Bring the family along to enjoy the iconic Australian film Red Dog (Rated PG) under the stars and soak up a beautiful summer evening in the park.
