Lake Hume Cycle Challenge
Overview
At Lake Hume Cycle Challenge there is a ride for everyone from small children to 80 plus year olds and with great views of Lake Hume from the higher peaks. Five bike rides commence and finish at Ebden on the shores of Lake Hume.
There is a 14 km ride for families with young children all on a rail trail. A 42km ride from Ebden to Tallangatta and return all on a rail trail. A 64 km loop ride from Ebden through Tangambalanga and Sandy Creek returning to Ebden on public roads. A 78km ride, The Bethanga Beast, starting at Ebden on a rail trail to Old Tallangatta then on Lake Road, including 7km on gravel, towards Bethanga then Bellbridge and return to Ebden. The final ride is the 114km Lake Hume Hustle to Old Tallangatta the up the very quiet Georges Creek Road to Talgarno, Bethanga, Bellbridge and return to Ebden. There are some great climbs on the Georges Creek Road, Talgarno Gap and Kurrajong Gap.
