Overview
The Night Passes is a solo exhibition by Fiona Davies that parallels walking in the apparent emptiness of the hospital corridor at night with driving to and from the hospital on a small, dark country road. Both sites of transition. Not somewhere to stay for long.
The sounds heard in the corridor are layers of unattended alarms, the sound of muffled crying, the sounds of muffled conversations, the sounds of sleep, and the sound of footsteps…

The sounds heard in the corridor are layers of unattended alarms, the sound of muffled crying, the sounds of muffled conversations, the sounds of sleep, and the sound of footsteps. Driving on a small country road at night introduces the idea of enchantment, of passing through a site of mystery.
