The Burringbar Range Tunnel is one of the standout features of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail. Stretching 524 metres, it is the longest tunnel on the trail and follows the path of the original railway line through the hillside. Inside, riders pass through a cool, atmospheric environment where glow worms can often be seen along the tunnel walls, along with microbats that inhabit the space. The tunnel is fully accessible by bike and offers a unique and memorable part of the ride.
