Slow Stitch Shibori and Sashiko: an Arts Muster workshop
Overview
You will learn about the art of shibori, which is a traditional Japanese resist technique, before embarking on dyeing your own fabric in the beautiful bright blue indigo dye bath. These scraps along with some vintage textile pieces will then be used to embellish a European cushion where you will learn the other Japanese technique of sashiko also know as boro
Suitable for ages 16 plus.

About Your Tutor: Kelly Evans is an experienced textiles teacher of 25 years who us passionate about all things sewing ! She works full time in a school teaching textiles to students. In 2019 Kelly won the NSW premiers scholarship for creativity and innovation across the curriculum and embarked on a trip to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam where she was able to refine her skills in embroidery, dyeing, applique, batik and shibori.
