Richard Tipping: 30 Years of Hear The Art

This exhibition explores Richard Tipping's long-standing creative career, which is deeply entwined to MAC yapang through works in the MAC yapang Sculpture Park and in the Visual Arts Collection.

It celebrates 30 years of Hear the Art, created and installed in the MAC yapang Sculpture Park in 1996.

Together, the exhibition inside the building and the works in the Sculpture Park outside offers an energetic and eclectic journey through the artist's imagination, conceptual motivations, and dialogue with place.

The exhibition highlights the heart of Tipping's practice: poetry and typography, most notably his multiple reimaginings of Hear the Art. It showcases his commanding use of stone, granite, and related materials, echoing the enduring presence of his works across the MAC yapang collection and Sculpture Park.

Several works presented will be acquired into MAC yapang's Visual Arts Collection, continuing the relationship with this landmark artist.
