The Saltwater Freshwater Festival is a vibrant celebration of Aboriginal culture, community and connection, bringing together the Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Birpai and Worimi Nations of the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. The Saltwater Freshwater Festival is a vibrant celebration of Aboriginal culture, community and connection, bringing together the Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Birpai and Worimi Nations of the Mid North Coast of New South Wales.

Returning in 2027, the Festival will bring Coffs Harbour to life with a full day of live music, traditional and contemporary dance, cultural workshops, language and storytelling, Aboriginal art, food and a boutique market showcasing First Nations artists, makers and businesses.

At the heart of the Festival are the people and cultures of the Saltwater Freshwater region. Visitors can experience culture firsthand, meet artists and cultural practitioners, discover locally made work, join activities and enjoy performances in a welcoming, family-friendly setting.

The Festival is an opportunity for locals and visitors alike to come together, celebrate the world's oldest living cultures and experience the creativity, stories and cultural strength of Aboriginal communities from across the Mid North Coast.
